Your treatment journey always starts with an in-depth consultation with one of our specialists. We will carry out a clinical analysis of your skin quality, measure the thickness of the tissue and discuss your medical history. We explain exactly how the different technologies (ultrasound, laser or injections) interact with your cells. You will receive detailed information on aftercare and realistic expectations.
You will receive a specific treatment proposal based on your body. After the consultation, you have a statutory reflection period of at least 48 hours to decide in peace and quiet whether you want to give your consent.

Preparing for a safe operation
The skin is double-cleaned and thoroughly disinfected. Before heat-based treatments such as Sofwave, we apply a powerful medical anaesthetic cream that is left on for around 30-45 minutes. This ensures that the intense heat deep in the skin is well tolerated.
The day of treatment
Safe care at the clinic
An ultrasound or optical gel is applied evenly over the treatment area. This gel is necessary for the energy (sound waves or light) to travel without resistance from the skin surface down to the exact target depth in the dermis.
After treatment
Awakening and initial rest
The specialist moves the handpiece systematically over the skin. At Sofwave, we stop to deliver pulses of ultrasound energy. You will feel a distinct heat build-up deep in the skin for a couple of seconds, immediately followed by the machine's soothing contact cooling that protects the surface.
Recovery & healing
Self-care and convalescence guidelines
The gel is wiped away. It is completely expected and biologically correct for the skin to be erythematous (heavily red) and feel warm afterwards, as we have deliberately created a controlled thermal stimulation. We apply restorative serum and a high medical sunscreen.
Monitoring & results
Medical check-up and final assessment
Your skin cells are now working intensively. If you have undergone laser/IPL treatment, you should strictly avoid direct sunlight. In the case of ultrasound (Sofwave), the skin surface remains intact, which means zero convalescence, but you are still advised to avoid pulse-raising exercise for the first 24 hours and always use SPF 50.

To undergo a medical skin treatment, you must be over 18 years old and in good general health. The method is suitable for patients experiencing structural age changes. During the consultation, an objective assessment of your skin condition is made. We do not perform treatments on patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding or who have active autoimmune skin diseases of the face.

What is the difference between Sofwave and HIFU?
Both use ultrasound, but the technique differs significantly. HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) creates small focal points deep into the tissue, which can be painful and in rare cases risks damaging underlying fatty tissue. Sofwave uses SUPERB technology that spreads the energy in parallel exactly 1.5 mm down into the dermis, where collagen is at its richest. This makes Sofwave extremely safe, effective for firming and gentle on nerves and fat layers.
How does laser and IPL skin rejuvenation work?
Light and laser therapy works on the principle of selective photothermolysis. The light energy seeks out specific colouring agents in the skin (such as red blood in vessels or brown melanin in sunspots).
