Thore Hedestig

Qualified as a doctor in 1987
Specialist competence in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care 1994

Thore Hedestig gained his experience during a 10-year period between 1991 and 2001 when he worked at the Anaesthesia Clinic at Karolinska Hospital with a special focus on traumatology and emergency care.

He has undergone specialised team training in traumatic conditions at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia and has worked in pre-hospital operations at the Stockholm Region helicopter ambulance and the Norwegian Air Ambulance.

Thore has also been involved in research focusing on stable isotopes for studies of energy metabolism, carbon dioxide production and water balance in intensive care patients.

Since 2001, he has worked at Akademikliniken in combination with several clients such as BB Stockholm, Odenplans läkarhus and Öron Näsa Halskliniken in Skärholmen.

With over 30 years of experience, Thore is a calm and confident anaesthetist. He has overall responsibility for the anaesthesia function at The Faculty.
